Favorites from 2011

I try to do a post at the end of each year with some of my favorite pictures and it is always hard to narrow them down to 2 pages, so this year I did 3 and it was still hard! Many of these pictures make me smile and a few make me cry, but am thankful for all the experiences that I have had this year. I have a wonderful family and great friends to share my life with. I am very blessed.
I hope each of my family members and friends have a very happy new year! Love you all!

Birthday Girl

Courtney turned 9 today! I can hardly believe it! She is a sweet daughter and sister. She loves to cook, read, play games, and do crafts. I love this girl! I admit there is alot of drama at times, but I wouldn't trade her for the world! :)

Christmas morning

My favorite part of Christmas morning was having all my kids in bed with me while Brian was getting the camera set up downstairs. No, none of us were sleeping, but this picture just makes me feel loved every time I see it. I love my kids so much and I wish it could stay like this forever. I often think of these song lyrics when I think about my kids. They are from a Lonestar song called "Let them be little."

So let them be little 'cause they're only that way for a while Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle Oh just let them be little

This year, I have heard so many tragic stories about little children losing their lives too early. As the new year approaches, I want to put these things at the top of my list to do more often: Hug my kids more. Tell them I love them every day. Be the best mom I can. These are the things that matter most, the things that show them they are loved, and the way they can feel Heavenly Father's love for them.

Bugs? Only if they are cute ones!

Courtney celebrates her birthday during winter break, so I made her cupcakes to take into her class the last day before school got out. When I asked her what kind, she said, "Bugs ones!" Of course.... She LOVES bugs! We had a mission to make her some cute bug cupcakes... and they were a success! All the kids thought they were great! (Some of you may think any bug on a cupcake would not be cute, but you have to understand Courtney to know that she thinks differently!) The girls in her class of course went for the butterflies and dragonflies, and the boys went for the scorpions and spiders!

Denver Museum

I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of the chaperone's for Jacob's field trip to the Denver Museum. We rode the bus down together and had so much fun! I love any time that I get to spend with him since middle school is keeping him pretty busy with homework.
